A wireline accelerator is wireline stretch simulator device used in conjunction with hydraulic or spring jars when jarring at shallow depths in the wellbore. The wirline accelerator is available in sizes from 1-1/2"to 3.00"OD and standard or H2S trim. Upward tension on the wireline compresses the spring with the accelerator assembly and the stored energy is transferred to the hydraulic or spring jars located further down the tool string.
