 Oil well drilling and well completion, it's longevity and safe operation depends greatly on a good, complete cementing.  Rigid centralizer might be the more economical choice. Deviated or fully horizontal casings rely on a proper standoff for a complete cementing which comes from using offer that insurance as they overcome the gravitational and axial forces of a casing.
