Zirconia liner ismade of zirconia(ZrO2) material inner sleeve and steel material outshell.
Zirconia liner canoffer life time cost savings, significantly longer service, better performanceand safer operation than sleeves made of more commonly used chrome iron oralumina ceramic.

 
What'sthe advantages of zirconia liner?

A.  PistonWear
The special hardnessand exceptional wear resistance of zirconia translates into longer service fromthe urethane and rubber pistons that move at high speeds and under tremendouspressure inside the mud pump liners. With true bores and zirconia liners honedto a fine 4 RMS finish, piston wear/consumption can be reduced by as much as75%.
B.  Labor andRig Downtime
Eastland's zirconialiners ave service lifetime over 4000 hours which can reduce the labor costduring the fluid end expendables replacement and rig downtime. The costs cannotbe forecast in event of breakdowns, emergencies or that are mud pumpliner-related.
C.  OtherConsiderations

All drillingoperations require a plentiful and continuous flow of water to minimize heatbuild up that could burn up pistons and/or cause bore wear. Use of a zirconialiner does not require any alteration of the driller's existing lubricationsystem, unlike an alumina liner that requires a larger water supply.
